Credit Cards Bye Bye?

I'm not an expert (please don't tell anyone) about the credit system. All I know for sure is that if you don't need it you can get more than you want, but if you do need it you can't get it at all.

What does this failure of Wall Street mean?

Credit, ATM Use May be Imperiled

"The House's defeat of the government financial bailout plan and the ongoing financial crisis may soon mean your credit card won't work at the supermarket, department store or ATM."

....

"The more the liquidity is bottlenecked in the banking system, the greater the reluctance is for banks to lend and borrow from one another, which reduces credit availability to consumers and businesses, including something as mundane as a credit card," said John Carusone, president of the Bank Analysis Center, a banking industry consulting firm in Hartford. "

...

"The whole credit market is going to shrink," said Celente, director of the Trends Research Institute in Rhinebeck, N.Y. "That's because of all the gambling and speculation by real estate developers, individuals flipping houses, and assorted Wall Street gamblers playing risky financial games." "

.....

"Don't be surprised if there is a bank holiday (Tuesday) or some time this week," he said. "The worst is yet to come. We are telling people, 'Don't spend a nickel more than you have to. Save for a cold winter.' "

....

"Credit card debt typically is packaged and sold to investors such as banks, pension funds and insurance companies in a process called securitization.
But that credit card debt must pay a much higher price to find a buyer in today's economic turmoil, various published reports said Monday. "

...

"With credit becoming harder to get, "the consumer now needs to protect his existing open lines of credit," she said. "He would do that by never paying late and not making short payments. And you don't want to skip a payment."
Cunningham said "maxing out" one's credit cards to the credit limits enables card issuers to reduce customers' credit lines and/or triple the interest rates."

Well now , I guess that is lesson in Credit Card Debt 101. Now this comes from that risk management place Hartford Conn..

"Don't spend a nickle more than you have to..."

Now that is comforting isn't it.

Full Faith and Credit, no faith no credit!

Actually I still don't get the ATM thing yet? Is there someone out there that can show the direct connection. I mean aren't ATMs just electronic tellers? So are they saying you can't get an advance out of the ATM on a credit card? Are debit cards still kosher?

If VISTA were a car.......

If VISTA were a car I would haven take it back the very same day I bought it.
In fact if VISTA were a car the company and all of its dealerships would already be bankrupt.

Microsoft VISTA sucks.
Every company that sells VISTA is just a whore in the Microsoft Cat House.
I've spent 6 days "wrasteling" with my new damn machine and finally gave it up to my wife who has a very limited use of a computer. That meant another 3 days of manual transfer of files. As for me I am right back where I started from, minus about $900 in total outlay for nothing of any value and many days of usless effort. No more.

Today I sent this letter to one of the microsoft kittens I bought my computer from.

"Every computer in my home is a Dell. All of the computers I have purchased for the past 10 years have been Dells. I like your product. But I will never buy a Dell computer again. Why, because of VISTA. If you are stupid enough to sell Vista then you are just one of the girls in the Cat House. I have just purchased a Vista based desktop from you only to find that my Epson R-800 archival grade printer will not work with it; that my old photo programs won't load on to it and that it chokes on damn near everything I try to transfer from my XP Dell. I have been loading and unloading files for six days now. My conclusion, this is my last Microsoft based purchase. Therefore no more Dells. I have give my new computer originally purchased for photo use over to my writer wife who only uses a computer for word processing and to read blogs. My next purchase will be a Mac. Now I know that this will only be read by some kid in Bangladesh but so-be-it. Vista sucks and people that sell Vista are verging on criminal behavior for perpetuating this fraud. Do your stockholders know how back your product has become?"

By the way, Microsoft, you can take those friggin "MOJAVE" adds and stick them where the sun don't shine.
Vista Sucks!

$700,000,000,000.00

I just can not relate to this.

Trust me! I need $700,000,000,000.00 and I will not let you starve.

So how much money is that anyway?
Well let us refer to the web site:
http://www.crunchweb.net/87billion/

This is a site dedicated to letting you know how much the
Iraq War Cost.
So let's take a look.

One Dollar

So here I am with my car to help you see the actual size.

So can you see me and my car down in the lower left hand corner of the building?
So it is a little too large if you use two of them to represent $700,000,000,000.00
but heck what's a billion here or there anyway.
But really, I can't get my mind around this.

A Bigot by Any Other Name Might Become President

Elsewhere on the web I have made the observation that in my opinion John McCain is exhibiting classic behavior of a bigot. Here is why.

As far as I'm concerned the stuff on the web is confirmation not the source of my understand about this. You can listen to me or believe me or not, but this is what I see.

I was raised in a bigoted society (against blacks, Indian, and Mexicans) in SW Oklahoma. I began to learn just what that meant to those on the receiving end as I started college in 1963. From that point on the lessons kept a coming.

I spent much of 1975 visiting with the white ole boys controlling XXXXXXXXXXX in Oklahoma trying to get the State's Constitutional segregation shifted to conform with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. I began to develop a sense of who were the bigots and who were the reluctant victims themselves. In short, I heard it all, at all levels and I can read a level of bigotry very quickly in a one on one situation regardless of the race involved. It became part of my survival tool kit to be able to do so.

It is much harder to recognize on the TV, especially when it is kept in low profile. So last night during the debate between McCain and Obama I was aghast to see John McCain lay out text book behavior of the bigot towards Obama. I simply couldn't believe that he was that blatant. Surely he knew better?

I had heard the "Ape" story and the "Janet Reno" story and I knew he threw "gook" around like a part of speech, but I contributed that to his "pilot" mentality. After all it takes a strange breed of person to land a jet on rolling postage stamp. Apparently it is much deeper.
I waited in vain for some commentator to comment on it in the proper context. Nobody, noway, nowhere ever identified what it truly was.

The story?McCain is a bigot.
The media know it but won't report it.
The media don't know it and are too dumb to see it.
The media are so young and inexperienced that they don't recognize it.

McCain is a child of the 1940's and 1950's, and the type of bigotry he shows is a time warp back to those days. When I realized what I was seeing I went onto to the web to see if there was any history of his behavior and among other things found this article attached below. It was from capitolhillblue.com and seem to summarize all of the other stuff I had found floating around on the web.

Yes, I am an Obama supporter, but as I said before I am a 63 year old white guy, a Vietnam Regular Army COMBAT vet, who has swallowed so much bigotry that I know the taste of it well.

Well I have had my little say now.
I'm going to take my meds and go away.

John, if you get up in my face then look in me in the eye!

I watched the debates.
I saw these things.

Obama looked directly at McCain when he was talking about him.

McCain could not look Obama in the eye when he talked about him.
McCain should ought to have beat Obama up on defense and foreign affairs, but he didn't manage to do it.

McCain talked about the past.
Obama talked about the future.
McCain , who only has a 20% voting record for veterans affairs, said he loved the veterans and that they knew it.
McCain was contemptuous of Obama. Why do you think? Minorities will recognize the behavior for what it was.
Obama tried to be a gentleman, too much I think.
McCain wants to be a sheriff, and sees being a gentleman as being weak.
Obama was aggressive.
McCain got angry.
The last thing McCain did was remind us once again that he was a victim, a prison of war.
It was mostly a tie, therefore because this was John's night, Obama was the victor.

What did you see.

Security Trumps Freedom: Microsoft VISTA Sucks Big Time

So I heard that Microsoft Vista sucked. But how much could it be bad I said?
After all I had Vista on my wife's laptop that we used to travel with and it worked just fine. Of course we only really used the laptop for Word, and e-mail, and to download photos from my digital camera to back them up. I have been using a window product wayback to my XT and AT machines.
So LIKE THE DUMB AMERICAN CONSUMER THAN I AM, I bought a new Dell with Vista on it to use primarily for my photographic needs.

Vista Sucks!

I can't load my old photo programs onto my new computer.

Vista Sucks!

All I have learned about moving files around in Windows doesn't work anymore.

Vista Sucks!

My older Adobe Photo, Firehand Ember Pro, and Arcsoft photo stuff are mostly incompatible with Vista even after downloaded fixes.

Vista Sucks!

My super duper Epson R800 8 ink archival type color photo printer does not work on Vista. Yes , both Vista and Epson tell me that NOW!

Vista Sucks!

My very nice newish Epson Scanner required 3 downloads to function with Vista and I'm not really sure it still does.

Vista Sucks!

Ignore those damn Mojave/Vista commercials; VISTA SUCKS!

They invented Vista to overcome XP's security problems, and screwed Windows freedoms of use. Well Vista is secure alright it is secure from me.

Did I tell you that VISTA SUCKS?

Now I have this brand new Dell computer that won't do anything I bought it to do.

VISTA SUCKS!

Apple anyone?

Hogs Eat Captain Lewis On the Natches Trace

Here lies the remains of the remains of Meriwether Lewis.
"In the language of Mr. Jefferson: 'His courage was undaunted; his firmness and perseverance yielded to nothing but impossibilities; a rigid disciplinarian yet tender as a father of those committed to his charge; honest, disinterested, liberal with a sound understanding and a scrupulous fidelity to truth.'"

Grinders Tavern. Was the final place that Lewis drew a breath.

"On October 10, 1809, a torrential rainstorm fell on the party. The pack horses fled into the forest and Lewis’ servants went after them. Major Neely begged Lewis to ride to the home of the nearest white settlers on the trail, promising that he would help to find the pack horses and the records they carried. Lewis agreed and the wet and sick man rode to the home of John Grinder, located about 72 miles from Nashville. The house served as an inn to other travelers along the Trace, so Mrs. Grinder graciously opened the door to him, although not before taking her children into an adjoining room. Mr. Grinder was away on business when Lewis arrived. A short time later, the servants arrived with the pack horses and Mrs. Grinder was reassured by their presence. She then prepared a meal for supper. "

source: http://www.prairieghosts.com/meriwet.html

One thing for sure it was not like the neat clean sharp edifice erected as a replica by the State Park Service.

Nor was the "Trace" such a well defined groomed trail that it is today.

"In 1811, Dr. Alexander Wilson told Mrs. Grinder’s account in detail. She stated that she was awakened several times that night by the sound of Lewis walking back and forth, once again talking to himself. In the middle of the night, she heard the sound of a gunshot and then the sound of something heavy falling to the floor. This noise was followed by the words, “Oh Lord!”
Immediately after that, she heard the sound of another gunshot and in a few moments, Lewis’ voice at her door. He called out to her. “Oh, Madame, give me some water and heal my wounds.” Through the chinks in the log walls, she saw him stagger and fall down between the kitchen and the room where Lewis had gone to bed. He crawled for some distance, raised himself up and then sat for a few minutes. He then staggered back to the kitchen and attempted to draw water, but was unable to. Mrs. Grinder refused to leave the room where she had been sleeping and assist him. In fact, she waited nearly two hours before even sending her children to the barn to rouse the servants. They came inside and found Lewis on his pallet again. He had been wounded in the side and once in the head. The buffalo robe that he lay on was soaked with blood and Lewis was barely hanging on to life. He whispered to them. “I am no coward. But I am strong, so hard to die.” He died just as the sun was rising over the trees. "

Source: Ibid.

"Lewis was buried there on the property. The land now exists as the Meriwether Lewis State Park in Tennessee. According to Major Neely and the historians that have followed him, Lewis’ death was clearly a suicide. The man had been deranged and drunk and took his own life in the Grinder cabin. But was this really the case? If Lewis did in fact kill himself, then why do so many questions remain? Why didn’t Mrs. Grinder come to the man’s assistance? Why didn’t Lewis’ servants hear the gunshots? Were they somehow involved in a crime.. a murder, or a robbery gone bad? Regardless, there were really no eyewitnesses to Lewis’ death, as even Mrs. Grinder did not see the shots being fired. "

Source: Ibid.

The park is one of the least visited of the Lewis and Clark sites.

"...legends persist today that state that the ghost of Meriwether Lewis still wanders the area where he breathed his last. The stories say that on certain nights, the sound of a water dipper scrapes against an empty water bucket and whispered words of “so hard to die” can be heard on the wind near Lewis’ grave site. The unsolved mystery of his death still remains and if the rumors and legends are to be believed, so does the great explorer’s spirit...."

Source: Ibid.

Not much, if anything of Lewis remains buried beneath the obelisk marking his grave. The whole area is a cemetery full of unmarked graves. In 1848 the State of Tennessee decide to mark Lewis' grave. So that got some shovels and dug up graves. after they found one with right kind of nail for the coffin and some uniform parts and a skull with a hole in it they decide it was Lewis.
However there are other reports that soon after Lewis' death he was temporarily buried and the hogs got to him and ate most of him. So the big coffin made for him and brought up days later was loaded up with what was left.

Hog shit is a transcendental end that's not so bad.

Republican E-mails Expose Obama and Anoints Sarah

So this guy at my church sent my wife this e-mail as part of the "grass roots" effort to tell the "truth" about the anti-Christ Obama and the God chosen messenger Sarah.

I will dissect this for you guys not familiar with fundamental speak.

"Barack, Sarah, and the Bible
Jim Bramlett"

(Jim Bramlet is the original source of the content of the viral e-mail he believes that Jesus is coming soon, there will be a war between Jesus and the anti-Christ and that these times are the End Times.)

"Sep 1 2008 07:54PM
Dear friends:
Barack Hussein Obama has taken the nation by storm. From obscurity, with zero executive experience, or much of any kind, he has vaulted into the position of Presidential frontrunner(sic). It is stunning. On the surface, it appears attributable only to his eloquent oratory and his race."

(Now we are harking back to the "Southern Strategy" created by Lee Atwater. Read as "he is an loud mouth uppity n****** " also add belittlement. Lee loved that and insisted that you do it to your opponent mercilessly.)

"But an invisible factor may be a strong spiritual force behind him, causing some people to actually swoon in his presence."

(Now this is a direct accusation that Obama has the Devil supporting him and that he may be the anti-Christ.)

"I have been very concerned that he has publicly said that he does not believe Jesus is the only way to heaven. This makes both the Bible and Jesus a liar, and it means that Christ has died in vain. A person cannot be a true Christian who believes that there are other ways of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life with God. Only Jesus has paid the price for that. Therefore, there is, indeed, another spirit involved."

(Now we get specific he does not meet the absolute minimum criteria of radical christian's belief therefore he is of the Devil and a deceiver.)

"And this spirit has come into our national life like a flood. Last week at Obama's acceptance speech, that spirit exalted itself in front of a Greek temple-like stage, and to a huge audience like in a Roman arena. Omama (sic) was portrayed as god-like. His voice thundered as a god's voice.

(The dang Greeks and Romans. So he used a football stadium and a sound system, sort of like Billy Graham, and now he is a god.)

"At the end, Democratic sympathizer Pastor Joel Hunter gave the benediction and shockingly invited everyone to close the prayer to their own (false) gods. This was surely an abomination, but it was compatible with Obama's expressed theology, and Hunter's leftist leanings. God was not pleased."

(God was not pleased? God talks directly to Jim about these things I guess. Just think of an American president that might be sensitive to non-christian religions, that would be an anti-Christ for sure.)

"And God says, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him" (Isaiah 59:19). Enter Governor Sarah Palin. With incredible timing, the very next day, Sarah Palin also appeared out of nowhere. Her shocking selection as John McCain's running mate stunned the world and suddenly took all the wind out of Obama's sails."

(God sent Sarah Palin. She is God's choice and to attack her is to attack God himself.)

"We quickly learned that Sarah is a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian, attends church, and has been a ministry worker. Sarah is that standard God has raised up to stop the flood. She has the anointing. You can tell by how the dogs are already viciously attacking her." But they will not be successful. She knows the One she serves and will not be intimidated."

("She has the anointing" God has chosen her and no one will prevail against her.)

" Back in the 1980s, I sensed that Israel's little-known Benjamin Netanyahu was chosen by God for an important end-time role. I still believe that. I now have that same sense about Sarah Palin. Today I did some checking and discovered that both her first and last names are biblical words, one in Hebrew the other in Greek: Sarah. Wife of Abraham and mother of Isaac. In Hebrew, Sarah means "noble woman" (Strong's 8283). Palin. In Greek, the word means "renewal." (Strong's 3825)."

(Magic name = magic power, anointed by God and named by God to show it.)

" A friend said he believes that Sarah Palin is a Deborah. Of Deborah, Smith's Bible Dictionary says, "A prophetess who judged Israel…. She was not so much a judge as one gifted with prophetic command…. and by virtue of her inspiration 'a mother in Israel.'" Only God knows the future and how she may be used by Him, but may this noble woman serve to bring renewal in the land, and inspiration."
"Jim"

Basically he is saying that God intends for HER to save America. Notice McCain has disappeared from the conversation. I guess Jim knows John won't be around too long. So Sarah, God's new Deborah, is to do battle directly with Obama, the anti-Christ himself ?

Jim sees this election as a direct battle between Good and Evil. Democrats are Devil Supporters. Republicans will raise up Sarah Palin and save the world. He does depart from the end of days message a little bit here but then.... well..so what.

Now my church is not a wacko place. Our denomination is not "fundamentalist". Even so this came from a member and he felt comfortable sending to other members. I will have to agree with Jim about one thing, "...this spirit has come to us like a flood...." but I disagree about who brought it.

Surfing for Lies: Cindy McCain "I am an only child..." and Lee Atwater and the "Racial Problem"

So after I put the cartoon up yesterday I decide to see just what kind of lies were actually floating around that particular day.
I look for the pathological lies.
The ones that don't need to be told, but that they must tell anyway.
That tells you what kind of world that person is really living in.
One similar to all the rest of us or one that they have invented or shift around at will.

Case in point, Cindy McCain had a video a the RNC that said she was an only child, and she says that all the time in many formats.

But she is not. She has two half siblings, two sisters. One from her mother and another one from her father. So she was not an only child of either her father or her mother. I guess she is an only child "of that marriage", but that's a canard all by itself.

Was it so damn important to be daddy's only little girl that she lied about it? Apparently so.

We know that McCain and Palin are exercising the Lee Atwater strategy of the big lies , the large half truths, and the code words shouting "Nigger"(Atwater's term not mine).

But why the little things? Truth is they just don't live in the same world we do. So why do they want to control it?

See the story of Cindy's denied siblings:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93708729

As for Lee Atwater well, here is his take on his Southern Strategy in a text book written by an academician. Remember it at the end of October when McCain starts using it. What you don't think he will? Ha! He has already started, and even the press are repeating it.

"Atwater: You start out in 1954 by saying, 'Nigger, nigger, nigger.' By 1968 you can't say 'nigger' - that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites.
And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me - because obviously sitting around saying, 'We want to cut this,' is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than 'Nigger, nigger."

What the F*#@K Is Going On?????

OK, what is happening. It's a Saturday morning and the cable channels are full of gloom and doom (except the FOX News where Murdoch has come on and said I can make money during this). What happened to Saturday morning cartoons?

So I have at least found a fair and simple explanation dated last Sunday September 16, 2001 from the San Francisco Chronicle about the source of all this shit:

The median home value nationwide was $120,162, up nearly 52 percent from $79,100 in 1990.
The median size of houses increased from 5.2 rooms to 5.8 rooms, and the percentage of houses with eight or more rooms grew from 13.2 percent to 14.6 percent.
Median household income also was up, to $41,343 from $30,056 in 1990.
But there was one up that was more upsetting than uplifting: the median mortgage cost. It rose from $737 a month to $1,307.
Furthermore, more than a quarter of homeowners nationwide have mortgages that exceed 30 percent of their income. That doesn't leave much margin for error in the bumpy road of home economics.
Some experts speculate that the increase in home equity loans, which are included in the housing cost statistics, may partly account for the much higher mortgage payments.
There's also another likely factor - and this one's a down trend.
American home buyers are putting less and less down on their mortgages, according to Mortgage Information in San Francisco, the country's largest monitor of home loan repayments.
Last year, 41 percent of them made down payments of less than 20 percent, and 15 percent put 4 percent or less.
So in their desire for homeownership, more families appear to be ballooning their monthly payments, a dangerous trend, especially for inexperienced first- time buyers.

THIS STORY IS EIGHT YEARS OLD! EIGHT YEARS OLD! IT IS FROM 2001!

Thus my headline above.

The U.S. Government is going to spend $700,000,000,000 by Monday to buy 5,000,000 "BAD" mortgages. Several sources say that they will actually have to spend $1,600,000,000,000. That is on top of the $600,000,000,000 already poured on the flames this week. Using the $1,600,000,000,000 figure that is $320,000 per mortgage.

So, we, you and I, the American taxpayers are going to buy 5,000,000 mortgages from banks or whatever you call them that have spent 7 years selling money to people who could not pay it back in order to make profits and salaries for the shareholder and officers of those banks. Meanwhile we are kicking 5,000,000 of our fellow citizens out of their home?

WE are rescuing the "ECONOMY", Wall Street, the Fat Cats? Why did we not rescue the 5,000,000 mortgage holders, the families, the homes, our friends , our neighbors, our family members sometime over the last seven years? Why didn't we do THAT two weeks ago instead of this today.

Oh, NEWS FLASH!, the deal being put together by the Government will allow the U.S, to barrow from China, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, et. al. up to a total of $11,200,000,000,000 to get us out of this mess.

Who are the radicals now?

I'm going out and mow my lawn, while I still own it,

Lewis and Clark at Fort Mandan

In 2003 I visited the replica of Fort Mandan in July. These photographs were made at that time. So I will let the visuals speak for themselves with minimum explanations.

Captains quarters. However they got the beds wrong. Clark and Lewis would have slept in a semi-upright position sort of like a patio lounge chair of today. It was the common practice of the time and was due in the main to their diet and the tendency towards heartburn and reflux. Their keel boat beds where indicative of this trend.

The Missouri River down from the Fort. I spent almost an hour along this shore watching a mama duck swimming with her six ducklings ward off an eagle that was standing on a sandbar waiting for their protective formation to break up in the swift current. They never did and finally the eagle gave up and went away and the duck and ducklings climbed upon the sand bar for a rest.

Sargent's quarters

USGS aerial photo of the replica fort

Some would contend that the "kit bag" would have been white.
However it were made of "oiled cloth" to water proof it , then it may have been red.

The "Blue" point blanket is actually from a later date than the L&C trip.

The "horned" anvil is a little too modern for L&C. Their's would have been more square and made of Iron. Steel was way to precious to use for an anvil except in very special cases.

Again the "red" color would be for a water proofed item. Not sure about this being correct, but several recent artist seem to have researched it and hold to the fact.

And that's Fort Mandan from my photo collection.
There will much more of the Clark and Lewis Corp of Discovery as time goes on.

McCain Palin Are Saying the Democrats are "Pushing" a Class War

Have you ever sat near the gate to an airplane and listened to the grumbled remarks as the First Class passenger board first?
How about the lady who ran HP and said Palin, McCain, Obama, or Biden weren't qualified to run a large corporation. The same lady who was FIRED by HP, and given a $40 million severance pay.
Yes the AIG head in the cartoon above is scheduled to receive a $5 million severance pay for failing.
McCain's wife wore $350,000 worth of dress and pearls to give her speech at the GOP convention.
The Lady Baroness Rothschild now a supporter of McCain and worth Billions of dollars (yes with a B) says that Obama is an elitist and "arrogant".
Class warfare!
It is already here.
It was renewed by Regan tax cut, and enhanced by 20 years of rePublican largess to the rich and Clintons middle of the road mildness.
It is 1930 once again. What comes next?
The Republicans are scared. They have reason. But it is not too late to pull back. Unless they keep pushing .

How much Does A President Cost These Days?

George W. Bush graced Oklahoma City with his presence Friday. He pretended to be coming to talk with small business men about Health Saving Accounts, but didn't really. That gave him legal cover to do a Tax Payer funded trip to raise money for Republican (I call them re-Publicans) candidates. Our Senator Inhoff needs money now for example to stave off a real challenge by a Democrat.

News OK . Com ( a small picture for a small event)

So how much does a President of the United States cost? I mean technically he does work "for us", doesn't he? So why should he slip into the city unseen except by those willing to pay and by some props ("regular" people and little kids) selected to meet and greet and photo op with him as he left a secure military airport? Well heck folks the man is still a rePublican and will retire soon, so he has to build up goodwill with his party and his retirement credits. Naw, he doesn't get to keep any of this money. His rewards come later, clean and laundered. Oh yes, other President have done the same thing, but none so well (Well, maybe Bill).

So, if you wanted to eat a plate of food with him, that cost $1000 and an invitation which might, just might, have cost even some more. To have your picture taken with him , well that was $500 (not counting the frame). To get some face time, some one on one access, well that cost $25,000.

Now just how is this not selling access and/or influence? Of course it is legal, the President of the United States is not going to participant in any illegal activity. But doesn't it smack of the Middle Eastern or Asian behavior?

You know like bribing the Mandarin in order to get to the Emperor. Isn't this behavior more, say, Saudi Arabian than American?

Reports are that there are 4000 Hurricane evacuees at the OKC Emergency Shelter at Reno and Council. They were there yesterday when George W. the POTUS was in the city. Wonder why he did not go by and check on them and give them some hope and warm fuzzies? Based on how much he cost these days, I guess I shouldn't wonder, they just could not afford him.
But then who can?

So how much would you pay?

Butterfly Among the Thorns

As an antidote for 9-11 I've been looking through my pictures for something....hopeful.

I chose this one of a butterfly finding sustenance among the thorns of a Flying Dragon plant.
This was taken just outside an old slave cabin preserved at the Laura Plantation on the Mississippi River, Northwest of New Orleans. The elements of the picture, the place it was taken, all , kind of said ....hope...to me.

No Justice For the Jumpers! 9-11 seven years later

It was the Jumpers.
The falling of the buildings was mind blowing.
The collapse of the Towers was unbelievable.
It was the Jumpers.
That was believable.
Those people I could identify with.
I could understand.
That I could wrap my mind around.
With them I identified.
That was what stoked my hatred.
Someone had to pay for the Jumpers!

As I look back now that is how I came to hate George W. Bush and all he was and stood for and everyone who supported him. I do mean EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED HIM. They are Shit to me.

W did not make them pay.
He dropped the ball
He went off on a personal family crusade.
He did not seek, much less obtain Justice for the Jumpers.

He left us, me, unsatisfied, unfinished, unresolved!
He is a loser. He let them get away.
Naw, don't give me back those Karl Rove (Lee Atwater Junior) talking points.
Don't you dare.

I want Justice for the JUMPERS.
I want Retribution for those who burst on the sidewalks.
I want Punishment in the name of those holding hands as they jumped together.
I want Parity of Pain given in the name of those who in flames leaped to their deaths.
I want Justice For The Jumpers.
That's all, just common justice.

McCain says if we elect him he can give it to us.
Big talk for a demented old man.
Why didn't you get it done already Mr Senator?
Besides John you smell like Bush and I hated that loser.

Obama says he can get it for us.
Can he?
I don't see the passion or the need for it in him.
You Have to NEED Justice or Revenge before you will pursue it where ever and however it needs to be pursued.

I go a bit insane on 9-11.
Just like I go insane every April 19th.
The Jumpers need Justice.
Justice for the Jumpers!
Is that really too much to ask?

Excuse me, the guys in white coats and nets are............

Where Is My Oklahoma Oil & Gas Bonus?

USA Today:
"Alaskans hit the annual oil jackpot today — and it was a gusher. Every man, woman and child in the 49th state will receive $3,269, their cut of the state's yearly oil wealth, plus a special cash bonus to offset soaring fuel costs. In all, 610,768 people are receiving the payouts.
Total purse: $1,996,600,592.
The oil royalty works out to $2,069 and the fuel rebate $1,200.
"The royalty dollars that flow through the state are the people's wealth," said Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, standing in for Gov. Sarah Palin, who was out campaigning with Sen. John McCain. "The $1,200 resource rebate goes to that philosophy."

What I want to know is why Oklahoma can not do the same thing? Now I realize that every dollar that an Alaskan gets is a dollar more that oil cost us down in the lower 49. Alaskans have added 2 billion dollars worth of cost to the contiguous 48 by taxing oil at its source.

Rather than berating them for their greed and anti-American behavior, I want to know why Oklahoma hasn't done the same thing with our oil and gas. Yes, we produce less oil than Alaska, and we have more people, but if we followed Alaska's lead and used their same formula each Oklahoman would still get about $900 per capita per year! That's a rough estimate give or take a few hundred bucks. Me and my wife would have $1,800 to vacation with, or to buy that new HD TV, or to buy a plane ticket to Alaska.

So Mr. Governor Of Oklahoma, why can't you live up to the level of the Alaska Governor? I want my windfall bonus. Don't let these out-of-State Carpetbaggers take our natural resource without paying for it! Tax Devon and Kerr, and Chesapeake, and Mesa and and and shit well even me. I've got a thousandth of a percent of one oil well. But I'll take that little bit of tax on me to screw the rest of America to get more money. Come on Oklahoma get on the band wagon soak the people of the east and west coast tax our State oil and gas output and them durn pipelines that run all over the place, dang it!

Hell, I may run for Oklahoma Governor my own self. If I can promise every man, woman, and child $900 a year if they would vote forme, I could get elected. I mean nobody has ever heard of me, but all I would have to do is put up yard signs that simply say : I'll Pay You and Yours $3,600 Each Over the Next Four Years to VOTE LOBOJO! I'll drop the DR cause I want them to think of me a common as dirt folk.

Let's tax em while they got it.
Who will support me out there?

Swiftboating Lipstick On A Pit Bull Pig

LIPSTICK! LIPSTICK! LIPSTICK! LIPSTICK! ETC. AND SO ON......
This should be the new chant for rallies where John McCain shows up alone.

The Rove inspired, if not advised rePublican trash machine has created a swift boat type effort to create the impression that Obama called Sarah Paling a Pig.
Read about it here:http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-campaign11-2008sep11,0,4703724.story

(source WSJ)

I personally have always considered that phrase sexist and stupid, and I am sorry the Obama used it. He was being dumb when he did. But no he didn't call Palin a pig and the McCain camp knows that so that is why what they are doing is dishonest and vile. Earlier this year John McCain said the exact same thing about Hillery Clinton's policies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMPYkNQlJMM

Was McCain calling Hillery a Pig. Did Sarah Palin corner the market on the word lipstick when she used it in her speech? Are some words reserved for rePulican use and not for use by Democrats lest they be swiftboated? This boggles the mind on so many levels.

Yep, even Dick Cheney has used the phrase!

If you look hard enough you can find that almost every politician has used the phrase, probably even Sarah Palin.
So maybe two good things will come out of this. Democratic hecklers can use "LIPSTICK! LIPSTICK! at McCain rallies and everybody will get so cautious about using the phrase that it will go away and then die off. One can hope so.
